Alvin and the Chipmunks: The City of New York vs. Alvin Seville is a 2023 direct-to-video traditionally-animated musical comedy-adventure film starring the Chipmunks and Chipettes. The film was written by Ross Bagdasarian, Jr., Janice Karman, Ian-Maxtone Graham and was directed by Ross Bagdasarian Jr. and Janice Karman. The film was produced by Bagdasarian Productions with Paramount Television Animation. The film was released to DVD/Blu-ray on March 5, 2023.

The Chipmunks and Chipettes travel to New York to play their latest song at a concert, even though Alvin's hatred of New York from the past remains during their trip.

Ross Bagdasarian, Jr. and Janice Karman reprise their roles as Dave, The Chipmunks and Chipettes for the movie. Brian Cummings made his return as Clyde Crashcup, however.

Animation is handled at PTA's Canadian and Australian subsidiaries, with additional animation by Yowza! Animation. Character animations have been directed by Eric Goldberg (Chipmunks and Chipettes) and Matthew O'Callaghan (Dave Seville).

  • This was a result of resolving the box office failure of The Alvin Movie, where the characters and backgrounds reverted to their late 80s/early 90s design and setting.
    • There were three reasons.
      1. It had too many 90's pop culture references.
      2. There were modern remixes of some old songs.
      3. Alvin did the matrix, including Simon and Theodore in one scene.
  • Miss Miller is completely absent from this movie, although she is mentioned by the Chipmunks and Chipettes, including Dave.
