Alvin and the Chipmunks: Spy Rodents is a 2019 American live-action/computer-animated comedy adventure film based on the characters created by Ross Bagdasarian Sr. directed by Robert Rodriguez and written by Rodriguez and Darren Lemke, it is the fifth and final installment in the live-action Alvin and the Chipmunks series and a direct sequel to the 2015 film Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip. The film stars Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler, Jesse McCartney, Christina Applegate, Anna Faris, Kaley Cuoco, Jason Lee, Dominic Cooper, Ben Affleck, Eddie Izzard, Danny Trejo, Owen Wilson, and Amy Adams.. The film was released on December 18, 2019, by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, exactly 11 years after the release of the previous film. It received mixed reviews from critics but was a box-office success, grossing over $760 million on a $90 million budget.


Sometime following the events of the previous film, the Chipmunks travel the world singing famous songs, including those made famous by Fall Out Boy, who seek out to destroy them after hearing them sing their songs.
