Alastor the Dictator is a 2029 American adult animated political satire black comedy film featuring characters from Vivienne Medrano's Hellaverse franchise in a plot that is mostly based off of the 2012 film, The Dictator. It is directed by Alec Berg, produced by his writing pals David Mandel, Jeff Schaffer (who were all also involved in The Dictator), & Austin Snyder, & written by Kendraw Cook, Raymond Hernandez, & Adam Stein.

It stars the voices of Edward Bosco, Jill Harris, & Mick Lauer reprising their roles from the Hazbin Hotel pilot, with Christian Borle returning from the main show itself. The film's plot depicts Alastor (voiced by Bosco) as a noble yet tyrannical dictator who goes on a journey to get back to power after being betrayed by his advisor (voiced by Borle), while also going through obstacles such as helping out the young Charlie Morningstar (voiced by Harris) in running a successful condotel.

Produced by SpindleHorse Toons & Tonic DNA & distributed by A24, Alastor the Dictator was released in cinemas on January 19, 2029, in celebration of the 5th anniversary of the main Hazbin Hotel series. The movie grossed $39.8 million on a budget of $15 million, & received mixed reviews from critics for its screenplay's similarities to that of The Dictator, but it was praised for its animation, voice acting & downplaying of the staple vulgar humor lifted from the Hellaverse.

Plot[]

For many decades, the fictional country of Radyokazo has been under the tyrannical rule of Alastor Deen, who promotes & patronizes numerous crimes & injustices. Because of this, he has become a wanted force in the entire planet, with the United Rings determined to take serious action against the nation if he does not stand down. After requests from his lower advisors, Alastor decides to travel to the Prideful Pentagram to address them.

However, once he settles in the country, he is kidnapped by his supposed bodyguard, Striker, sent to kill him under the orders of Alastor's own advisor, Voxfraad, who is at odds with him since he does not want the country to technologically advance. He manages to escape, eventually, & learns that Voxfraad has replaced him with Lucasifram, who masqurades as him to announce to the world that Radyokazo will operate under democracy, against Alastor's wishes.

When he tries to interfere, he is rejected since he is in unrecognizable attire, & his "deer hair" has been cut off by Striker. Eventually, he seeks refuge in the Cheerful Condotel, owned by the young Charlie Morningstar. Despite her girlfriend Vaggie being hesitant about the risk of having Alastor poses, Charlie is confident that even the vilest of people can change. While walking across the city much later, he encounters Husk, whom he seemingly had killed over disputes of the shape of the nuclear missile that Alastor plans to use against all opposing countries. He follows Husk & is led to a restaurant which serves as a refugee area for many other people he has ordered to be executed previously.

Husk reunites with Alastor & agrees to help him reclaim his throne, so long as he is reinstated in Radyokazo's nuclear program. Whilst helping Charlie out with her business, Alastor & Husk also stay in touch to formulate a plan to invade the signing of a constitution that will declare Radyokazo a democratic country. Alastor takes a zipline to the hotel where Lucasifram is in & instructs him to leave. Recognizing Alastor in the constitution signing event, Charlie goes to the venue with Vaggie, who reluctantly joins her.

There, Alastor has Voxfraad arrested after revealing his plans to have him killed, rips the constitution in half & gives a speech on his views on dictatorship & democracy, but reconsiders after seeing Charlie amongst the crowd, retracting his hatred of democracy & formally announcing Radyokazo as a democratic country. As Charlie congratulates Alastor for his redemption, Voxfraad shoots at him as a last ditch effort, before Lucasifram gets in the way & takes the bullet. Alastor bids farewell to her as he returns to Radyokazo to participate in ultimately rigged elections, remaining ruler of the country, while Husk is reinstated in the nuclear program as promised, & Charlie continues running her condotel alongside Vaggie.
