Adventures in Hollow Earth is a 2019 American/British pulp science fiction television series by 20th Century Fox Impossible Pictures. It was a spin off sequel to Hollow Earth Expedition and produced by Steven Spielberg and Tim Haines, it was cancelled after four seasons.
It was based on the award winning role playing game Hollow Earth Expedition and Mysteries of Hollow Earth, both published by Exile Game Studios. It is the spin off sequel to Hollow Earth Expedition and likes its predecessor its special effects were done by Framestore.
Plot[]
Season 1: Sixty years after the death of Bishop Vortigern the Medieval Kingdom of Avalon is now based on Science and Mathematics, Reformed Christianity, Truth and Reason and Magic. The King and his Knights Templar defend it with their lives against those who threaten it. But then an army of Orcs led by the evil General Warskull arrive and try to take control for themselves.

Main Characters - Avalon[]
- Chandler Riggs as Dante Alighieri - The 18 year main protagonist of the two seasons of Avalon. He is the son of Grand Templar Master Alighiero and the late Bella, he is a squire in training to become a member of the Knights Templar and is betrothed to Princess Beatrice his beloved. He secretly dreams of become the next champion of Avalon by defending it from the Orcs who seek to destroy it by wielding the great sword Excalibur, he finds clues on where the sword is located and eventually he reclaims it from the giant Tyrannosaurus Rex, Sharptooth and kills the evil Orc Warskull, marries Beatrice and becomes the 10th Champion of Avalon.
- Katelyn Nacon as Beatrice Pendragon - The beautiful Princess of Avalon, the beloved of Dante and a direct descendant of King Arthur and Queen Guinevere. Although she kind and gentle she can be incredibly stubborn and is fierce fighter, she helps Dante find clues to the whereabouts of her ancestors sword Excalibur in order to defeat the evil Orc Warskull once and for all. When Dante went to reclaim Excalibur from the Giant Tyrannosaurus Rex, Sharptooth she and Dante made love in case he never returned. During the battle for Avalon he was brutally stabbed by Warskull but was healed by Merlin at the cost of his own life and married Dante and later gave birth to a son.
- Ralph Fiennes as General Warskull the Scourge - The main antagonist of the first season of Avalon. He is an evil, violent and brutal Orc General who wants to take both Avalon and Excalibur for himself, he is also revealed to have being allied to Bishop Vortigern in the past and was supposed to help him take over Avalon but the two and a falling out and he left. Years later when he heard of Mordred's death he swore to take Avalon for himself and find the sword Excalibur. Late during the battle for Avalon he brutally stabs Beatrice and leavers her for dead, he and Dante then battle in Camelot castle where Dante manages to disarm him and is about to kill when Warskull pretends to beg for mercy and Dante tells to never come back, but once Dante has his back turned Warskull leaps at him but Dante jumps out of the way in time and Warskull falls to his death.
- Andrew Lincoln as Alighiero Alighieri - The Grand master of the Knights Templar of Avalon, Knight of the Round Table and the widowed father of the main protagonist Dante. He is the swore defender of Avalon and is determined to protect it from Warskull and his Orcs, he also desires for his son to become and member of the Knights of the Round Table with him.
- Sebastian Koch as King Uther Pendragon The Eighth - The father of Beatrice and the King of Avalon, when he was a child he was hidden from Bishop Vortigern. He is a kind, fair and generous ruler who on his coronation day swore he would never be like his ancestor whom he deemed unworthy of both being king and wielding Excalibur, he also swore that the kingdom would be peaceful and prosperous. When the Orc army led by Warskull besiege Avalon he becomes caught up in a crisis, either go to war and risk the lives of Avalon's innocents or let them suffer at the hands of the Orcs.
- Michael Gambon as Merlin The Sorcerer (Part 1) - The Sorcerer of Avalon, King Arthur and the oldest resident in Avalon. He is also Uther's adviser and the teacher of Magic in Avalon. Despite being a wise and powerful Sorcerer he believes that magic has no place in the world anymore, but despite this he is kind to Dante and Beatrice and helps them in Dante's quest to find Excalibur. In the last episode of Part 1 when Beatrice is fatally stabbed by Warskull he used the Spell of Healing but it unfortunately forced him to use his own life energy.
